Freel Peak/Jobes Sister - April 25 2009

On April 25, 2009 10 BAS Hikers set out on a snowy trek up Freel Peak, the highest point in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The 14-16 mile round trip excursion pretty much took all day. Two of the speedier trekkers actually made it to the top (Dave and Jerry) of Freel Peak. Five more made a valiant attempt at the summit, but allas, they were running out of daylight and had to turn back. Reality struck Ramsey, David and Lisa early enough to go for an alternate peak - Job's Sister (which was only about 50 feet lower). All 10 had fun though and went home nursing sore muscles and swaping great stories of arguably the toughest 1-day hike in BAS history.
